The sometimes-derided concept of correspondence school has morphed into sophiticated, grad-degree-centric programs that are offered by many accredited colleges nationwide. But if you’re thinking about taking your Instructional Design education to the next level, first take a look at what Lorna Collins says in Learning Solutions magazine about picking the program that’s right for you.

With no credible system of rating the various programs, finding the best one is up to you. To get you started, though, Collins provides a list of 10 ID programs with links to the schools that offer them.

To those who have succeeded, and to the memory of those who have sacrificed in the attempts:

The man who knows what’s right and is tenacious
In the knowledge of what he knows cannot be shaken,
Not by people righteously impassioned In a wrong cause, and not by menancings

Of tyrants frowns, nor by the wind that roils
. . .the sky could fall
In pieces around him, he would not quail.

–Horace, Ode iii.3, “The Constancy of Purpose”
