Cannibalism isn’t a pretty word, but the concept itself is useful in other (and much less psychopathic) contexts.
For example, legend has it that the prototypes for a lot of the spacecraft used for the first Star Wars movie (we’re talking A New Hope here, not that other one with Jar-Jar Binks) were created by cannibalizing plastic model kits. So why not do something similar for the resources you need to build your rapid e-learning projects? That includes clip art, pre-built animations, templates, even sound files. Tom Kuhlmann has more.

Ever assemble a furniture item from IKEA? The instructions are strictly pictorial, almost simplistic, but manage to communicate each step you need to take to put together that new Euro-style futon-bookshelf and bidet.
But what if some famous items from science fiction came with IKEA-type instructions? Or even Stonehenge?
